Barrier property refers to the barrier effect of packaging materials against gas, liquid and other penetrating substances passing through the packaging materials. Its pros and cons directly affect the quality of the product during the shelf life, and it is also an important indicator for evaluating the product shelf life. The barrier performance of packaging is one of the important testing indicators for cosmetic packaging, including oxygen permeability, moisture permeability and organic gas permeability. Oxygen permeability testing is mainly used to determine the oxygen permeability of films, composite films, cosmetic bags or bottles used in cosmetic packaging. Two methods currently used to detect oxygen permeability-differential pressure method and equal pressure method-can detect the oxygen permeability of the film and the overall oxygen permeability of the packaging material, but the testing requirements are different. The differential pressure method has no requirements for detecting gas, and can be used to detect the air permeability of any gas, but the detection of packaging containers is still in its infancy; the film detection technology and container detection technology of the isobaric method are relatively mature, but there is nothing to do in gas detection. However, there are some limitations. The airtightness of a sealed package mainly refers to whether there are vents in the package. Leakage means that gas leaks or enters the package through cracks, pores or tiny gaps between two materials. There is a high probability of leakage in the heat-sealed position of the packaging bag and container bottle mouth. To solve this problem, it is necessary to strictly control the production process and make process adjustments based on test data. Commonly used detection methods are positive pressure method and negative pressure method. Among them, the application of positive pressure method should be paid special attention, because the detection method can not only detect the sealing performance of ordinary packaging, but also expand the accessories of the detection object, for example, it can detect samples such as hoses, spray heads, caps and open bags by adding tests annex.
