Definition of plastic
Plastics is based on monomer as raw material, through polymerization or condensation polymerization reaction from macromolecules, commonly known as plastics or resin, can freely change the composition and body style, composed of synthetic resin and filler, plasticizer, stabilizer, lubricant, color material and other additives.

The main component of plastic is resin.
The term resin was originally derived from the lipid secreted by plants and animals, such as rosin, shellac, etc. Resin refers to the polymer compounds that have not been mixed with various additives.
Resins account for about 40% ~ 100% of the total weight of plastics.
The basic properties of plastics are largely determined by the nature of resins, but additives also play an important role.
Some plastics are basically composed of synthetic resins with little or no additives, such as plexiglass, polystyrene, etc.

Plastic, in fact, is a kind of synthetic resin, similar in shape to the loose resin in natural resin, through chemical means of artificial synthesis, and called plastic.





One, about plastic bottle

Plastic bottles are mainly made of polyethylene or polypropylene and a variety of organic solvents are added.
Plastic bottles are widely used polyester (PET), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) as raw materials, added with the corresponding organic solvents, after high temperature heating, through the plastic mold through blow molding, extrusion, or injection molding plastic containers.
Mainly used for beverage, food, cosmetics and other liquid or solid disposable plastic packaging containers.
Plastic bottles are not easy to break, low cost, high transparency, food grade raw materials and so on.

Two, the main material of cosmetic plastic bottle

Plastic bottles are usually made of PP, PE, K, AS, ABS, acrylic, PET, etc.
PET material is environmentally friendly material with high barrier property, light weight, non-breaking property, chemical resistance, anti-resistance, strong transparency, can be made into pearlite, colored, magnetic white, transparent, widely used in gel water.
The bottle mouth is generally standard 16#, 18#, 22#, 24# caliber, and can be used with pump head.
AS and ABS: AS has better transparency and toughness than ABS.



Acrylic material for plastic bottle, chemical resistance is poorer, generally cannot directly paste, need to match the tank, filling not too full, prevent the paste into the bladder and acrylic bottle, lest produce cracks, transport packaging of the demand is higher, because of the cut after look particularly evident, high permeability, sensory on wall thickness, but the price is quite expensive.



Categories and technology of plastic bottles for cosmetics

1. Usually used for plastic injection molding of cream bottles, caps, stoppers, gaskets, pump heads and dust shields with thick cosmetic container walls.

Silk screen printing ink and UV ink, UV ink effect is better, glossy and three-dimensional, in the production should be made to confirm the color, in different materials of silk screen effect will be different.


4, bronzing, silver processing technology and printing gold powder, silver powder effect is different, hard material and smooth surface is suitable for bronzing, silver, soft surface hot stamping effect is not good, easy to fall off, bronzing silver glossiness is better than printing gold silver.
Screen printing film to a negative, text effect is black, background color is transparent, bronzing, hot silver process to a positive, text effect is transparent, background color is black.
The proportion of text and design should not be too small or too fine, otherwise the effect will not be printed.



5. The bottle cap is generally equipped with inner gasket, pull cap and inner plug, and very few are equipped with small spoon or dropper, mainly considering its sealing and convenience.

Iv. Common problems with plastic bottles

1. In the design of extruded plastic bottles, if the material is high-density polyethylene or polypropylene, the cross section of the plastic bottles should be rectangular or oval; for low-density polyethylene or other flexible plastic bottles, the cross section should be round.
This makes it easy to squeeze the contents out of the plastic bottle.
The plastic parts used together with the plastic bottle mouth are mainly bottle cap and sealer.
The design of the plastic bottle mouth should focus on how to make the plastic bottle mouth fit well with the cap and sealer at the bottom of the bottle, which is the weak part of the mechanical properties of the plastic bottle.
Therefore, the bottom of the plastic bottle is generally designed to be concave.

In order to facilitate the stacking of plastic bottles and increase the stacking stability of plastic bottles, the bottom of plastic bottles should be designed with internal grooves.



2. When labeling is used on the surface of plastic bottles, make the labeling surface smooth.
A 'frame' can be designed on the surface of the plastic bottle so that the label can be accurately positioned without moving.
In blow molding, the first part of the billet blown contact, always tends to harden.
So the wall thickness of this area is also larger.
The edges and corners are the last contact parts of the billet, and the wall thickness of this part is small.
So the edge of plastic bottle and wipe horn should be designed into a rounded corner.
Changing the surface shape of the plastic bottle, such as making the middle of the bottle relatively thin and increasing the circumferential groove or convex rib on the surface of the plastic bottle, can improve the stiffness and bending resistance of the plastic bottle.
Longitudinal grooves or stiffeners can eliminate the deviation, sagging or deformation of plastic bottles under long-term load.



3. The printing surface of plastic bottles is the place where consumers pay the most attention.
The printing surface should be smooth and continuous. If the plastic bottle contains handles, grooves, reinforcing bars and other structures, the design should not cause inconvenience to the printing operation.
Oval plastic bottle, stiffness is higher, but the mold manufacturing cost is higher.
Therefore, in order to ensure the stiffness of plastic bottles, in addition to the choice of materials with high stiffness, the plastic bottle shape design should be adopted to enhance the stiffness and load-bearing strength of plastic bottles.



4, because most of the plastic is sensitive to notch, plastic bottles in sharp corners, the root of the mouth thread, neck and other parts, easy to produce cracks and cracking phenomenon, so these parts should be designed into rounded corners.
For the transfer point of rectangular plastic bottle, it is necessary to support most of the load of plastic bottle, so the partial increase of wall thickness there is also conducive to improve the stiffness and load strength of plastic bottle.
